# Deposits and balance: deposit, withdraw and minimum at BBT

> All about depositing and withdrawing money, the minimum deposit amount and what happens when you want to sell all positions and withdraw your money.

Here you find answers to practical questions about depositing and withdrawing money at your exchange, the minimum amount you need to get started with the trader, and how the trader handles your available balance.

<Accordion title="What is the minimum deposit amount?">
  You can already start with a balance of **€ 25** on your exchange account. The trader can purchase **1 or 2 transactions** with this budget (depending on the chosen coin and the rules of the exchange) and take strategic positions with it.

  Transactions always cover **18% of the outstanding euro balance** at your exchange. The smallest transaction size BBT uses is **€ 25**.

  <Note>
    This refers to the balance at the exchange, not to your credits balance in BBT. These are two separate balances.

<Accordion title="How is the size of a transaction determined?">
  By default, transactions always cover **18% of the outstanding euro balance** at your exchange. The smallest transaction size is **€ 25**.

  At trader level you can adjust this through the **"Average buy amount"** setting. If you enter a fixed amount there, the trader always buys exactly that amount per transaction, regardless of the available balance.

<Accordion title="What is a reserved amount in the exchange setting?">
  Through the exchange setting in BBT you can specify that the trader **may not (re)invest** a certain amount of the available balance. This gives you the option to hold a reserve for:

  * A planned withdrawal
  * A buffer for sudden price drops (reinvesting at a lower price)

  **Example:** you deposited € 5,000 and everything is invested. You enter a € 2,000 reservation. The trader only makes new purchases again when it has more than € 2,000 in free balance, and only with the amount **above** € 2,000. Until then, the trader does sell but no new purchases are made.

  You can adjust this amount for as long as necessary.

<Accordion title="I want to deposit money to trade — how does that work?">
  Log in to your exchange and make a transfer from your own bank account to the euro account at the exchange. Use the SEPA transfer function the exchange offers for that.

  As soon as the balance is available on your exchange account, the trader will **from that moment on calculate with the new, higher euro balance** and make new transactions with it.

  No adjustments are needed in BBT itself, the trader detects the higher balance automatically.

<Accordion title="I want to withdraw all my money from the exchange right away — how does that work?">
  You can manually sell all your open positions at any moment and then withdraw your money. Follow the steps below:

  <Steps>
    <Step title="Sell all open positions">
      In BBT, go to the **Buy transactions** screen. Use the sell button behind each position to manually sell all open pockets.
    </Step>

    <Step title="Deactivate the trader">
      As soon as all positions are sold, go to **Edit trader** and set the trader to **inactive**. This way the trader prevents new purchases while you handle the withdrawal.
    </Step>

    <Step title="Transfer your money to your bank account">
      Log in to your exchange and make a transfer from your euro balance to your own bank account.
    </Step>
  </Steps>

  You can perform all these steps within a quarter of an hour.
