With the BBT strategy, the trader only buys at the start of an upward trend, not during an already ongoing rise. So it is possible for the price to rise while the trader does nothing: that is intentional and correct behavior. The Updown strategy has different buy moments based on price ranges.
Possible causes
1. Buy moments of the BBT strategy
1. Buy moments of the BBT strategy
The BBT strategy works according to a fixed format: the trader only buys at the start of an upward trend, provided that within the set bandwidth (trader setting “Min. percentage between buys”) no other comparable transaction is open and enough euro balance is available at the exchange.During a price rise, the BBT strategy does not make new purchases. Wait for a new buy moment at the start of the next trend.
2. Insufficient euro balance at the exchange
2. Insufficient euro balance at the exchange
The trader needs at least € 25 of free euro balance on your exchange account to place a transaction.Check your balance at the exchange. If your balance is lower than € 25, the trader cannot buy until you top up or an existing position is sold and the balance frees up.
3. No credits available in BBT
3. No credits available in BBT
BBT uses credits to cover the platform services. If your credits balance is depleted, the trader stops trading.Go to Settings → Credits in your BBT account and add credits. As soon as the balance is topped up, the trader automatically resumes its work.
4. API not connected or incorrectly connected
4. API not connected or incorrectly connected
If the API key is not correctly connected or is inactive, the trader has no connection with the exchange and cannot place orders.Check the status of your API connection through Settings → Exchanges. Is the exchange inactive? Then consult the API key problems page for the solution.
5. Reserved amount set too large
5. Reserved amount set too large
If you have entered a reserved amount in the exchange setting that is greater than or equal to your free euro balance, no free balance is available for new purchases.Go to Settings → Exchanges and lower the reserved amount, or wait until enough balance frees up from a sale.
6. Price ceiling reached
6. Price ceiling reached
If the current price of the coin is above the set price ceiling, the trader does not make new purchases. This is a deliberate protection to prevent purchases at historically high prices.Check the price ceiling setting in your trader. Adjust it if the situation justifies it.
7. Maximum number of open buys reached
7. Maximum number of open buys reached
If the set maximum for simultaneously open buys has already been reached, the trader does not make new purchases, not even at a new buy moment.Increase the maximum through the trader setting “Maximum open buys”, or wait until existing positions are sold.
